Nuts for Scouting

Purpose

To give local units a spring fundraiser to help scouts earn their way to summer camp. The local unit uses most of the commission to benefit the Scout. A benefit of the Nuts for Scouting sales is that there is no money up front and NO RISK to the local unit. This sale will help your unit and Council become fiscally sustainable.

Cost

The unit only orders what it needs; individual container orders only. The unit should collect the money upfront and then pay for their order at the time the order is due.  After placing your unit’s order on April 9, you will receive a verification of the total amount of the order and how much is due to pay for the product.

Type of Sale

Take order only. Scouts take orders on their sheet and turn it in to their unit. The Susquehanna Council has order forms for your scouts to use. The order forms are available at the Council Service Center. Scouts collect the money up front and submit the money with their order.

Commission

The unit commission is 35%. The local council also makes a modest amount of money that will be designated to provide quality Scouting programs.

How to Sign up

  • Fill out and submit the online commitment form HERE.
  • Pick up your Sales Brochures.  They are currently available at the Scout Service Center or by connecting with your District Executive
  • When ready to place your unit order, please have one representative in your unit fill out the Excel Master Order Form and email it to Jake Horner.

Key Dates

TODAY – Sign up your Unit for the Nuts for Scouting Fundraiser by completing the online commitment form HERE.
April 9 – Unit Orders are submitted to Jake Horner.  Please use the Excel Master Order form to place your order
April 30* – Orders will be available for pick up at the Council Service Center or through other arrangements you make with your District Executive.  Money for the product is due when you pick-up your product.  You will keep your 35% Commission.

*NOTE – April 30 is the date we estimate to have the product in hand.  If this date changes, we will notify all units that have placed orders.
